Birth in Harmony was founded in 2007 by Severine Degnan, a certified birth doula with ALACE. After the birth of her daughter in June 2006, she realized that her birth was a gift from her daughter. It had changed her forever and she believed that many other women could have a beautiful, sacred, and empowered birth. She started attending births in the spring of 2008 and completed her certification at the end of 2008.

She is available to attend birth in any of the RI hospitals and she has attended several homebirths. Her philosophy is such that she will support you in whatever choices you make for your birth, this is a unique experience, each birth is different and sacred; and she strongly believes that each mom has the right to make decisions and have choices in regards to her birth.
As a doula, she works with both mom and dad to help them find their path into parenthood so they can decide what is right for them and their family.

Severine is a trainer Postpartum Doula with DONA, specializing in overnight.
