What is a Doula?
A Doula (from the ancient Greek meaning "a woman who serves") is a trained and experienced professional who
provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to
the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides
emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.
A Doula understand and trusts the natural process of birth, respects its transcendent and sacred aspects as well as its physical and emotional aspects.
A Doula facilitates the birth experience for the parents, the baby and the primary care providers.
